The Adverse Impact Research Group is a collaborative research effort at the University of Maryland among faculty, students, and practitioners. The focus of our group is to identify factors that reduce or eliminate adverse impact in human resources practices. Our five overarching goals are:
1.To move the field ahead by focusing on theoretically-driven programmatic research on adverse impact.
2.To give back to the community by conducting research aimed at benefiting larger society.
3.To design and conduct research with the ultimate goal of presenting at conferences and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
4.To apply for grants that enable us to study the underlying reasons for subgroup differences.
5.To provide job training for graduate students.
